Starting September 2024, Music Together in LaDaDi will be offering two types of classes: Mixed-Age (0-5 years) and Babies (0-8 months)!
The cornerstone of Music Together® is the Mixed-Age class for children from birth through to age five…and the grown ups who love them! Child development researchers have know for a long time that the natural, family-style environment of mixed-age classes is the best way for young children to learn, and Music Together® was the first early childhood music program to offer music classes for mixed ages.
Gathering babies, toddlers, and preschoolers together makes each class fun for all! Imagine an extended family with a dozen or more kids and a bunch of caring adults, and you’ll get the idea! The mixed-age format is not only educationally sound but also creates a family-like atmosphere where siblings can attend class together. Older children learn from being in a leadership role, while younger children benefit from the example of the older child. Moreover, children of the same age are not necessarily in the same stage of music development. A mixed-age format enables them to participate freely and experience the music at their own level of complexity, without being burdened by age-specific expectations.
You might be wondering what your newborn could possibly take away from a music class and how old they have to be before they can benefit. At Music Together®, we know it’s never too early to get babies started in class! Your little one is a natural-born music-maker, ready to start learning music at birth.
In the Music Together Babies class, for infants from birth through 8 months (at the start of the semester), you’ll learn a lot of fun musical activities for babies. You’ll also learn to recognize which of your baby’s behaviors are musical so that you can support their development at the time when your baby’s brain is at its most receptive. The Babies class has other benefits, too! Singing and dancing with your baby is a beautiful way for the two of you to bond. And making music with other parents of newborns is a great way to make new friends in your community who are as sleep deprived as you!
Familientraum is pleased to collaborate with Music Together LaDaDi to offer the world-renowned Music Together® curriculum to families with children newborn to age 5 years. Tuition for the 8 week semester is 120 Euros (incl. VAT) per child. An additional 40 Euros are due, in cash, at the first class. In addition to your weekly 45-minute classes you will receive:
– a beautifully illustrated songbook with music access code included so that you may enjoy professional recordings of the songs from class at home and on the go
– online access to the Family Music Zone, where you can find ideas for at-home music play, research-based articles and more
– educational guides for parents and caregivers to enhance knowledge about early childhood music development
– quarterly e-newsletter from Music Together Worldwide
– growth chart allowing you to track the predictable, linear music development path of your child(ren) over time
Please note: Kasia will speak English during class, and songbooks and recordings are in English or in the original language the songs were written in; translations of written materials are available. As Music Together® is a music and not a language program, classes are led in a way that makes it easy for all to participate, regardless of the language spoken at home.
